Laia Pla uses classical sculpture as a starting point to venture into a freer, more expressive, and personal territory. Through modeling, she experiments with materials, textures, patinas, and color, transforming recognizable shapes into pieces of great personality. Her process is driven by curiosity and exploration, but also by an intimate, luminous way of relating to her work. We wanted to portray that transition between classical form and everything Laia discovers while shaping it. We constructed the piece as an artist's portrait, using composition and lighting designed to bring us closer to the beauty of gesture and matter, giving the sculptures their full presence on screen. A voiceover drawn from an interview runs through the piece, weaving the narrative from an intimate and personal perspective, complementing what the images tell us and adding a new layer of meaning.
